Know Exactly What's in Your Water

Free comprehensive in-home water testing. We test, explain the results, and give you a printed report. No obligation, no pressure.

Comprehensive Water Analysis

Our free in-home test covers the parameters that matter most for Colorado water.

Hardness (Calcium & Magnesium)

The #1 water quality issue in southern Colorado. We measure in grains per gallon (GPG) and show you exactly where your water falls on the hardness scale.

pH & Total Dissolved Solids

pH affects how your water tastes, how well soap works, and whether your pipes corrode. TDS gives an overall picture of mineral content.

Iron & Manganese

These metals cause orange/brown staining on fixtures and laundry. Common in well water throughout El Paso County and the Monument area.

Chlorine & Chloramines

Used to disinfect municipal water, but they affect taste, smell, and can form harmful disinfection byproducts. Colorado Springs has recorded THHMs near the federal limit.

Why Test Your Water?

Your city's annual water quality report tells you what leaves the treatment plant, not what comes out of your tap. Water picks up minerals, metals, and contaminants as it travels through miles of pipes to your home. And if you're on a private well, there's no report at all.

Colorado Springs Water Varies by Neighborhood

Colorado Springs Utilities blends water from multiple sources: soft mountain surface water (around 1.7 GPG), local groundwater, and Fountain Valley Authority water. The mix you get depends on where you live. Your neighbor three blocks away may have completely different water than you. The only way to know is to test.

PFAS Testing for Fountain, Security & Widefield

If you live near Peterson Space Force Base or are on a private well in the Fountain, Security, or Widefield area, PFAS contamination is a serious concern. Some wells in this area have tested at over 1,370 parts per trillion, far exceeding EPA health advisory levels. We can arrange comprehensive PFAS testing and recommend effective treatment options, including reverse osmosis systems that are proven to remove these contaminants.

Well Water Testing in El Paso County

Private well owners are responsible for their own water quality. We recommend testing at least annually for:

  • Bacteria (coliform and E. coli)
  • Nitrates (some El Paso County wells exceed the federal limit)
  • Hardness and mineral content
  • Iron, manganese, and sediment
  • PFAS (if within 5 miles of military installations)
  • Uranium and radionuclides (present in some Denver Basin wells)

What Happens During the Test

We come to your home at a time that works for you. Testing takes about 15-20 minutes. We collect samples from your main water line and drinking water tap, run the tests on-site, and walk you through every result. You get a printed report to keep. If treatment is recommended, we'll explain your options, but there's never any obligation to buy.

Water Testing Questions

Is the water test really free?
Yes, 100% free with no strings attached. Our standard in-home test costs you nothing. If you'd like advanced lab testing for specific contaminants like PFAS, heavy metals, or bacteria, there may be a lab fee, which we'll discuss upfront.
How long does the test take?
About 15-20 minutes from start to finish. We test on-site and give you results right away along with a printed report.
What if my water tests fine?
Then we shake hands and leave. Seriously. If your water doesn't need treatment, we'll tell you. We're not going to recommend something you don't need just to make a sale.
How often should I test my well water?
The Colorado Department of Public Health recommends testing private well water at least once per year for bacteria and nitrates. We recommend adding a comprehensive mineral and contaminant test every 2-3 years, or immediately after nearby construction, flooding, or changes in taste/smell/color.
